Doctrine of Angels

Angels were created by God to serve and worship Him, but are not to be worshipped (Heb 2:7; Rev 19:10; 22:8-9). One angel, Satan, directly influenced Adam and beguiled Eve (Gen 3: 13). Sin originated in Satan, who also deceived many angels to follow him (John 8:44; Matt 25:41; Rev 12: 9-14). These fallen angels were removed from God's presence and made the object of divine wrath (2 Pet 2:4; Jude 1:6). Satan’s sin was pride (1 Tim 3:6). He will be judged by Christ at His return and be eternally damned to the lake of fire (Rev 20:1-3, 10). Satan and fallen angels are active in the universe, especially on earth, deceiving people and ruling over spiritual darkness of this world (Matt 4:1; 1 Pet 5:8; Eph 6:12).
